If you miss the last lift on the Sellaronda, you must take a regional SAD bus or a private taxi back to your valley, as there is no official 'rescue' shuttle.
Quick Facts
The Regional Bus Option
The only public transport connecting the Sellaronda passes (Gardena, Sella, Pordoi, Campolongo) is the SAD Bus Line 471. Note that these buses run less frequently in the late afternoon and often stop shortly after the lifts close. You can check the latest schedules on the Südtirol Mobil website or app.
Taking a Taxi
If you miss the last bus, a taxi is your only option. Because the driver must navigate high mountain passes to reach different valleys, the cost is significant. Reliable local providers include Taxi Val Gardena , Taxi Kostner , and Taxi Leo . If you are stuck in the Alta Badia side, try Consorzio Taxi Alta Badia .
How to Avoid Getting Stuck
- Start the circuit no later than 10:00 AM.
- Ensure you reach the final pass of your route by 15:30.
- Keep an eye on the 'Last Lift' signs posted at the bottom of major gondolas.
- Carry a physical map or use the Dolomiti Superski app to track lift status.
If you realize you won't make the last lift, try to reach the nearest town (like Corvara or Arabba) rather than a mountain pass. It is much easier and cheaper to arrange transport from a village center.
