The Lift: The modern Resciesa funicular railway swiftly transports you from the edge of Ortisei up to a sun-drenched plateau at over 2,100 meters. In just an 8-minute ride, you'll ascend through quiet forests, emerging to one of the most spectacular panoramic views in Val Gardena, looking across to the Sassolungo, Sella, and Sciliar massifs. The summit station has a restaurant with a large sun terrace. Winter: In winter, Resciesa is a paradise for non-skiers, hikers, and families. It is not connected to the main Dolomiti Superski area or the Sellaronda. Instead, it offers access to a popular and well-maintained 6 km toboggan run that descends back towards Ortisei. It's also a fantastic starting point for peaceful winter hikes and snowshoeing with breathtaking scenery. Summer: A primary hub for hikers, the funicular provides direct access to the magnificent Puez-Odle Nature Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. From the top, numerous trails lead to iconic spots like the Rifugio Brogles and the Seceda ridgeline. Mountain bike transport is available, making it a great starting point for high-alpine tours.
