The Lift: An unforgettable and historic experience, the Forcella del Sassolungo gondola features unique 2-person 'phone booth' cabins where passengers stand for the ride. This iconic lift, often called the 'coffin lift', offers a thrilling and intimate journey up into the dramatic rock saddle between the Sassolungo and Cinque Dita peaks, providing truly breathtaking close-up views. The base is at Passo Sella, a short drive from Selva.

Winter: The lift does not operate in winter. The descent is a famous but ungroomed and challenging ski mountaineering route only for experts with appropriate gear and knowledge.

Summer: A must-do for hikers and sightseers, the gondola provides direct access to the Toni Demetz refuge at the summit. From here, numerous high-alpine hiking trails begin, including the popular descent through the Sassolungo cirque to the Rifugio Vicenza. It's a gateway to some of the most spectacular hiking in the Dolomites.
